Registration

Thank you for your interest in Project SHINE!

The registration deadline has been extended to Friday, February 8. 

Welcome.  To register for Project SHINE you will need to complete the following steps:
 

Step 1

Make sure that you are available for both Training I and Training II if you are a new tutor, or the Returning Tutors Meeting if you have tutored with Project SHINE before.  New tutors have two dates to choose from for each training: a Friday afternoon and a Saturday morning.  You will be asked to select one when you complete the registration application.  Returning tutors are required to attend the Returning Tutors Meeting.  Returning tutors who cannot make the meeting must contact the Coordinator to schedule a make-up meeting.  Make-ups are not available for new tutors.  Check the calendar for the dates, times, and locations of Training I, Training II, and the Returning Tutors Meeting.  You should also mark your calendar with the date of the Reflection Celebration.

Step 2

Read about Philly SHINE's tutoring sites and choose your top three sites and time slots.  Check the Community Partners page to see information about each site, including the language backgrounds and ethnicities of the learners, the type of instruction, the schedule, and the location.  You will be asked for your top three choices when you fill out the registration application.

Step 3

Fill out the online survey and application.  If you don't already have the password, please contact the Coordinator to request it.  Click here to fill out the survey and application.

You will be informed of your site placement via e-mail the week of February 11.  Tutoring will begin Saturday, February 16.
